Pre-diabetes occurs when a person's blood sugar is higher than normal but is not classified as diabetes. The goal of pre-diabetes education is to help prevent the onset or delay the progression of type 2 diabetes.
Clients will receive the most current education on pre-diabetes and a personalized weight loss and exercise plan that will help to decrease or delay the progression to diabetes. |

Gestational Diabetes Education |

The goal of gestational diabetes education is to normalize blood sugars during pregnancy in order to ensure a healthy baby and mom. Moms-to-be will receive extensive education on Gestational Diabetes, a very detailed food plan and guidelines for blood sugar targets. All moms-to-be are required to keep food, ketone, and blood sugar records and follow up in one to two weeks. |

Type 2 Diabetes Education |

The goal of type
2 diabetes education is to learn how to (1) regulate blood sugar by way of diet,
weight loss, and increased activity to feel great and (2) to help prevent
diabetes complications. Studies show that by controlling blood sugar - as
indicated by Hemoglobin A1C levels - your risk of complications decreases
significantly.
In fact, every 1% drop in A1C equates to a 40% drop in eye, kidney and
nerve-related complications! |

Type 1 Diabetes Education |

The goal of type 1 diabetes education is to regulate blood sugar control in order to optimize energy levels and allow for adequate growth. Since patients with Type 1 diabetes require insulin, it is paramount that clients learn how to prevent , as well as treat, low blood sugar levels should they occur. Clients will receive a personalized food plan based on caloric needs, exercise level, and desired eating habits. It is my personal philosophy that insulin should be adjusted to cover usual food patterns and not have food adjusted to cover insulin. |
